Nearpod and Google classroom promotes learning and ownership of learning

Nearpod

Nearpod features a feature in where students can create opportunities to create their own interactive slide shows with features listed below

Interactive exercises might help you find class treasures. Here are Nearpod examples:

Videos and slides for visual learners
Deep-thinking open-ended questions
Art students should draw
Time to Climb for competitors
Drag-and-drop for hands-on learners
Collaboration Board for Social Collaborators
Opinionated student polls
Matching pairs for pattern-seekers
For context, fill in the blanks
VR Imagineering field trips

Students are able to take control of their education and become their own instructors with the help of these features, which enable them to convey the knowledge necessary for projects in a variety of forms that encourage participation and innovation.

There are many various alternatives for students to study in a manner that is most suited to them, including self-directed exploration, interactive video uploads, and group work with their classmates.

Google classroom

Since students students can comment on posts, lead/host discussions, submit or view work at their own pace this allows students to take learning into their own hands with having the students collaborate with their peers but also receive immediate  feedback to relearn the concept and resubmit

When I used google classroom during covid I would upload videos of me teaching and have students upload their own videos of them doing projects at home in alternative ways. Such as the topic of building something through stem. I would also host discussion posts where students would interact with their classmates about a topic we covered.

With due dates and deadlines set within google classroom students are able to take ownership of their own work to make sure they submit their assignments on time.

The main feature I liked was the open line of communication and collaboration that google classroom allows through different forms of learning and communicating
